Just a few thoughts.

I don't see the big fuss over this Urgoz is full of critters if you play the way it was meant to be played.
Playing 30 Seconds of Urgoz for great rewards was an exploit and now it is fixed. This wasn't farming - it was a joke.
Play the whole thing and you will get plenty of drops. I love the Urgoz chest at the end now too

Why does that matter?? Its not like people are going to salvage their 15k glads or whatever just to get the radiant insigs off. And seriously, radiant insigs are not that much. They aren't sup vigor before HM. When they get above 5k each, then you can complain.

Well being able to put new insignias on my 15k bonelace armor was nice...
But having to rebuy all the headpieces I originally got as collector's headpieces? I only got them because they were EXACTLY the same as drok's ones, but cheaper. And I put time into getting all the items for them. Suddenly, they're inferior, after over a year of using them.
I can understand them nerfing things in your inventory when they were bugged (rockmoulder, SoA axe, etc.) even if I had them at the time. But the collector's headpieces weren't bugs or exploits. So I'm not happy about it at all.
For the newer players, sure, /help and /wiki are great. But what sucks is their armor, if it's not max - they just paid more for armor with an inherent bonus only to have it stripped away, and now they have to pay more to replace it. If you had just bought LA armor with an energy bonus... this would suck.

Lol ... how about going for that crystalline sword ....
You need to unlock 50 regular weapons ... and 50 fancy weapons. And where do you put those???? Ooops, not too much space on a pvp char. Oh well, just put it in storage. Ooops, pvp reward weapons won't go into storage!?!?!
I guess we're supposed to unlock all of these weapons and then just delete them to make room for the next?!?!?!?!
Good thing most pvpers remake their characters daily anyway ... so they will never use the system in the first place and won't have to deal with the frustration....

I like the change to old armors but adding new skins to pvp characters is going too far, ive heard people saying that FoW will be available for pvp chars which is stupid.
I can agree with basic skins but adding top end pve items into pvp isnt right.

It matters because
-->All existing lower-level armor pieces from these campaigns now support insignias but have had their inherent bonuses removed.
The REMOVAL of the inherent bonus is possibly because they didnt want people salvaging those less-than-max armors for the insignias.

I am pretty sure that you CAN get FoW and Crystalline sword skins. But I don't think you UNDERSTAND how hard this will be. It takes 1000 Reward Points just to be able to access the tier of armor. And even then it's another 100 reward poitns to buy the set. It takes the average player a month to even get 100 reward points. That means it will take 11 months of playing AT's. And it only took me about 6 months to get FoW in PvE... so are you sure it's fair?

the WIKI......did i say ......WIKI.......was advance information for the curious instead of making them wait for the full final write up.
there was no update/change on the update page.
the WIKI was corrected

Actually they do, IF you kill them before they suicide...
same can be done with the hoppers. If the hopper can't hit you, then it can't suicide right?
Now then, my only criticism of this update (and this is *intended* as constructive) is that the hopper suicide drop thing is a shortcut programming tactic, like the SR change. It really shouldn't be left that way. The problem with gimmicky monsters which then get gimmicky HM global upgrades instead of actual thought out planning (however impractical that would be) is right here in plain sight. This is not to suggest that Anet needs to go back and recode everything, that's unreasonable. I'm just pointing out just how obvious this is.
I enjoy hard mode, and I enjoy farming. I'm not bashing this, just want Anet to get some perspective here. I think the more creative solution would go over well in this case. Hell even nerf the hoppers to level 13 even in hard mode...
Last point, level 24 hopping vampires which instagib you if they hit you is *not* easy mode... it's doubly insulting to have these guys which are obviously in-situ anti-farm nerfed with more anti-farm and then be told Anet isn't against farming in the same sentence.
Did I think this particular little farm spot needed a nerf? Yes, nuff said.

Gaile implied on GWO that the current PvP Rewards mechanic is working as intended. That makes no sense.

Guys, quick question; How can I (READ: PvE players who has no chance of getting any RP whatsoever) see the rewards that I could buy if I get some RPs?
I just want to see them and see their prices so that I'd at least understand what you guys are talking about when you.....you know....discuss about how hard to get each of them, so and so.

After all that arguing, you agree that I'm right? Wow.
Like I said, ANet should look into more elegant solutions for silly problems. I never did the Urgoz farm, and while I agree it was rather silly, those monsters were put there in the first place as "anti-farm" help, just like chained souls and Dieing Nightmares.
To anti-farm your anti-farm because you added a global difficulty level that allowed easy farming of the anti-farms is just compounding a silly problem with stupid solutions.
But in the face of added mob spawns in popular areas that are specifically geared towards eliminating certain builds' viability, and then in the same breath claim that you're not against farming at all is hypocritical to the extreme, and if anyone is actually buying that load of garbage, then you're more naive than I thought possible.

That surprises you? Every time ANet makes a change that the players are unhappy with, Gaile says everything is peachy and shows all the quotes of the five or so people that agree, while completely ignoring everyone else. That's of course right before the huge swell of dissappointment and complaints becomes so prevalent that ANet retracts or makes another change, which then contradicts Gaile's earlier statements of satisfied blissful gaming balance.
I don't envy Gaile her job, she's the go-between of developers who ignore their players, and players who are highly loyal for some reason and care.

Actually .. there is nothing to see ... there is no menu ... no price list ... and no preview of the items. All it is is a big list of items that you can buy .... gothic sword, butterfly sword, etc. You must look them up in wiki to see what they look like I guess.
The prices are as follows:
- 10 reward points for a regular weapon
- you must buy 50 regular weapons to have access to the 'fancy weapons' menu
- you must buy 50 weapons to get access to the 'exotic weapons' menu.
I have no idea how many reward points it costs to buy a fancy or exotic weapon .. no one I know has bought 50 regulars yet ... even if you did where would you put them all? lol ... these weapons will not go into the storage chest. I guess you are just supposed to buy them and delete them lol.
Armor is similar ... but it is 20 RP per piece of armor ... and there is only regular armor and fancy armor.
Hope that helps.

For you pve-ers who don't seem to understand WHY this is so bad, let me explain:
THe ENTIRE prupose of the PvP Character idea (and skill unlocks) is so you can delete and remake whatever new character you need without having to grind out the PVE. That means virtually ALL pvp-ers delete and remake their characters regularly (ie more than once per day for most of us). Along goes the rewards into the trash bin.
So no, we don't NEED cool weapons ... or epeen, or whatever you want to call it. But what is the purpose of spending all of that development time implementing a system that is completely worthless??? (not to mention getting the hopes up of lots of pvp-ers). Why did they bother? They could been working on something else!!!!
I just don't get it. Anet DOES HAVE pvp-ers on staff .. I play with a couple of them ... THEY TOO HAVE DEDICATED PVP SLOTS THAT THEY REMAKE REGULARLY! I just don't understand how they could miss (or worse deliberately do) something like this.
|
Well, that's the story, ain't it. PvPers get a gift, it's not good enough. PvE'ers are getting screwed by nerfs, we're told to shut up.
Just the normal state of the world...

You dont understand the reason why the PVP players think its worthless. You have to spend more time grinding for these than you would just going to go farm them in PVE. Not only that but if you have to remod them, or make a different weapon of a different type of build, your screwed and lose the origional weapon you purchased with them. They are not unlocks, so therefore everytime you need say a sword warrior, you have to reroll a different sword and buy the new skin every time. Thats why this update is crap. and also PVP players get screwed by the same nerfs as PVE players do.
